Costa receives high praise from local leaders on his record of delivering for the Valley

Momentum behind Congressman Jim Costa’s campaign for re-election continues to build, with Costa’s campaign announcing key endorsements from over a half dozen local leaders today.

From clean air to water, to standing up for immigrants, local leaders are praising Costa’s track record as a tireless champion for the Valley. The following Valley leaders have thrown their support behind Costa’s re-election:

Madera Mayor Andy Medellin said: “We need Jim Costa in Congress to ensure immigrants and working men and women have a voice. Jim Costa is an experienced, tireless champion for our Valley and is the only candidate in this race who knows what it takes to defend our communities. I stand with Jim Costa, the clear choice for Congress.”

Parlier Mayor Alma Beltran said: “I’m proud to endorse Jim Costa for Congress. Jim has been on the frontlines fighting to protect and increase our water supplies and ensure clean air for our families and children. We need him in Congress working to keep our Valley strong and healthy.”

Congressman Costa said: “I am truly honored to receive such strong support from our local leaders who share a belief in the power of public service to get things done for our families and communities. The Valley is made up of a diverse collection of people and cultures and I will continue to work with, listen to, and stand up for all of our communities to ensure they have a voice in Congress.”

The groundswell of support for Costa has continued to build in recent weeks, with Democratic champions coming out early in support of Costa’s re-election. They include California Governor Gavin Newsom, Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, US Senators Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein, and others.
