CA’s senior Senator calls Costa “the clear choice” for the Valley; praises his experience and vision

Today, Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) announced that California’s senior United States Senator Dianne Feinstein has thrown her early support behind his re-election to the United States Congress.

Senator Feinstein said: “Jim Costa is the clear choice to continue representing the Valley in the US Congress. I am proud to have partnered with Jim to ensure the Valley’s families and farmers have access to reliable water supplies. Jim’s leadership and strong track record of bringing home results that make a difference in people’s lives proves that he has the vision and experience necessary to stand up for the Valley in these challenging political times. Jim Costa will continue to be one of the strongest voices for the Valley in Congress, and his friendship is extremely valuable to this Senator.”

Congressman Costa said: “Having the support of Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democratic icon and one of the nation’s most accomplished public servants, means a great deal to me. I am thankful for our friendship and great working relationship and look forward to continuing to work with Senator Feinstein in achieving even more for the Valley’s families.”

Costa represents California’s 16th Congressional District, which includes portions of Fresno, Madera and Merced Counties. He was re-elected to Congress in November 2018 by a decisive 15% margin over his opponent. During his service in Congress, Costa has delivered over $290 million for water investments, over $300 million for veterans’ services, expanded access to higher education, and improved access to healthcare.
