Jim Costa Surges in Fundraising, Raises $1.22 Million

The momentum behind Jim Costa’s re-election campaign to US Congress continues to swell, with Costa’s campaign announcing he has raised $1,221,119 million in his re-election bid. The most recent quarter is Costa’s strongest fundraising quarter to date, raising $505,633.

Congressman Costa said: “I’m excited to announce that I have raised over $500,000 in my re-election campaign. This is my strongest fundraising quarter yet; a clear testament to the strength and momentum behind my campaign. With so much at stake in 2020, we need to focus on the issues that matter, protecting our Valley families, including our immigrant communities, and maintaining cleaner air and water. I’m looking forward to continuing to serve our region and state in Congress and delivering even more for the Valley.”

Costa will have $903,734 on hand to deploy in his reelection campaign. Support for Costa’s re-election has been steadily building in both endorsements and funds raised. He has amassed endorsements from top local and statewide leaders and organizations, including Governor Gavin Newsom, Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, US Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, State Senators Anna Caballero and Melissa Hurtado, State Assemblyman Adam Gray, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Equality California, the Fresno County Democratic Women in Action, Black Women Organized for Political Action Fresno and California Chapter, and others.

Costa represents California’s 16th Congressional District, which includes portions of Fresno, Madera and Merced Counties. He was re-elected to Congress in November 2018 by a decisive 15% margin over his opponent. During his service in Congress, Costa has delivered over $290 million in funding for water improvements, over $300 million for veterans’ services, expanded access to higher education, and improved access to healthcare.
